Position Title: Technology Support Specialist
Department: Library and Information Technology Services
Reports To: Director of Technology Support Services
Classification: Non-Exempt E FTE: 1.0 Salary: $22.15 -$24.75 / hr
Essential Job Duties:
2. System Services
● Assist the Desktop Systems administrators support and maintain the public and residential hall lab facilities including system builds, software installations and maintenance and lab setups.
● Track down undocumented inventory changes using software tools and physical checking of last known locations.
● Work with the desktop team to determine hardware and software for faculty and staff computers.
3. Supervisory Responsibilities
● Hire, train and supervise one to two student employees
● Assist with the training of the Helpdesk student employees
4. Promote services and represent the libraries and IT, including creating media, planning & working at events, contributing ideas, and helping the Events and Engagement committee to make the libraries a
welcoming place.
5. Support, respect, and commit to embracing diverse backgrounds, values, and points of view to build a
strong and inclusive community
6. Complete and meet deadlines for required training and performance management cycle
7. Perform other duties as assigned
Work Schedule:
Term: Year Round
Shift: Monday-Friday, 8AM to 5PM; On campus position with flexibility to work remotely occasionally with approval of the Associate Director of Desktop Services; occasional evening or weekend work as need required; travel less than 2% of the work schedule, which includes local (Twin Cities metro area), regional and national travel.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Associate’s degree, vocational training, or equivalent work experience
Experience: 1 years’ experience supporting operating systems including Windows and MacOS; 1 years of experience installing and maintaining computers, printers, and peripherals
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree
Experience: Experience providing IT support in a higher education setting

Employment in this position is conditioned upon successful completion of a background check, which may include criminal background checks, reference checks, verification of work history, verification of any required academic credentials, licenses, and/or certifications, a motor vehicle check, verification of a DOT certification, a credit check, employment eligibility verification, and/or a pre-employment physical. Whether a background check is deemed successfully completed will be at the sole discretion of St. Olaf College.
